How are referrals tracked and identified?
Referrals who land on the Business T-Shirt Club website as a result of an affiliates marketing efforts are identified by IP address. For example: John (referral) clicks on Jane's (affiliate) unique url from his HOME on a Sunday afternoon but gets distracted and does not complete the membership application. The next day John, while at WORK, Google searches "Business T-Shirt Club" to return to the website to complete the membership application. In this example, because John was not at home (original IP address) when he returned to the website to complete the membership application nor did he return to Jane's unique url while at work (new IP address), the system would not be able to credit Jane for referring John. Using this same scenario, had John Google searched "Business T-Shirt Club" when he returned home from work or returned to Jane's unique url while at work or home, the system would be able to credit Jane for referring John.
